In 2025, Apple discontinued several of its popular devices, including iPhones, iPads, Apple Watches, AirPods, and Macs. The main reason for this was to make room for the latest models with improved features and newer chipsets. Here’s a breakdown of the products that were retired this year.

iPhone 16 Pro Models

Apple stopped selling the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max. This is a yearly practice, as the company usually retires the previous Pro models when new ones are launched. The iPhone 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max are now available, while the regular iPhone 16 continues to be sold at a lower price.

iPad Pro with M4 Chip

The iPad Pro powered by the M4 chip was discontinued in 2025. The newer iPad Pro with the M5 chip has replaced it, offering faster performance and upgraded features for users.

Apple Vision Pro with M2 Chip

Apple also retired the original Apple Vision Pro headset that used the M2 chip. The latest Vision Pro now comes with the M5 chip, providing better processing speed and an improved user experience.

AirPods Pro 2

After several years, the AirPods Pro 2 were replaced by the AirPods Pro 3. The new version comes with noticeable upgrades, including better sound quality and enhanced features.

Mac Studio with M2 Max and M2 Ultra

The Mac Studio models powered by the M2 Max and M2 Ultra chips have been discontinued. Apple has introduced Mac Studio devices with M4 Max and M3 Ultra chips, offering faster performance and more advanced capabilities.

Apple Watch Ultra 2

The Apple Watch Ultra 2 was also retired this year. After only a color update last year, it has now been fully replaced by the Apple Watch Ultra 3, which is the latest highend Apple Watch with significant improvements.
