What if your next smartphone could offer a 200MP periscope camera, a massive 7,000mAh battery and a display with a claimed peak brightness of 12,000 nits? Motorola's new flagship, the Signature 27, brings all three features together, along with a powerful Snapdragon chipset and AI-powered video tools. But the phone is not just about impressive numbers. With a premium design, seven years of software updates and a price tag of around Rs 1.51 lakh, it is clearly targeting buyers who expect more from a flagship smartphone.

A 200MP Camera Takes Centre Stage

The biggest attraction of the Motorola Signature 27 is its camera setup. It features a 50MP Sony Lytia 910 main camera, a 200MP periscope telephoto lens and a 50MP ultra-wide camera, along with a dedicated action sensor. The high-resolution periscope camera is designed to capture distant subjects with greater detail. Motorola has also introduced an AI-powered Video Enhancement Engine that analyses scenes and adjusts colour tones while recording, aiming to deliver more refined videos.

A Display Designed to Impress

The Motorola Signature 27 features a 6.8-inch Extreme AMOLED Duo display with LTPO technology and a 120Hz refresh rate. It uses a Tandem OLED panel, which is designed to deliver improved brightness and colour performance. Its claimed peak brightness of 12,000 nits is another major talking point. This could make outdoor viewing more comfortable, particularly under bright sunlight. The high refresh rate should also make scrolling, gaming and everyday navigation feel smoother.

Snapdragon Power With Advanced Cooling

Under the hood, Motorola has equipped the Signature 27 with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chipset. It is designed to handle demanding applications, gaming and AI-powered features. To manage heat, the smartphone uses the ArcticMesh cooling system, featuring diamond-infused thermal gel, liquid metal, copper mesh and a redesigned 3D vapour chamber. Motorola says the cooling system is 40% larger than its previous generation, helping the phone manage heat during extended workloads.

A 7,000mAh Battery Changes the Game

Battery capacity is another area where the Motorola Signature 27 stands out. It packs a 7,000mAh battery, which is considerably larger than the 5,200mAh battery in the previous Motorola Signature. The phone supports 90W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. It also offers 5W reverse wireless and 4.5W reverse wired charging. For people who use their smartphones for gaming, photography, video streaming and work, this larger battery could be a useful upgrade.

AI Features Go Beyond Basic Assistance

The Signature 27 also puts considerable focus on AI. Google's Gemini is deeply integrated into the smartphone, with tools designed to help users create content more easily. Gemini Omni can turn prompts, photos or existing footage into polished videos, while Google's Lyria can generate music and soundtracks. These features could appeal to people who regularly create social media content. Instead of relying entirely on separate editing applications, users get access to AI-assisted creative tools directly through the phone.

Seven Years of Updates and Premium Design

The Motorola Signature 27 runs Android 17 and promises seven years of operating system and security updates. This is a major consideration for buyers planning to keep their phones for several years. Its design features an aluminium frame with contoured edges, while the camera module combines ceramic and brushed aluminium details. Gorilla Glass Ceramic 3 protection, IP68/IP69 ratings and MIL-STD-810H compliance add to its durability credentials. The phone also becomes Motorola's first model to feature Audio by Bang & Olufsen.

Motorola Signature 27 Price and Availability

The Motorola Signature 27 is priced at $1,599 for the 12GB RAM and 512GB storage variant, equivalent to approximately Rs 1,51,100. It will become available in Europe, the Middle East and Africa on November 16, followed by the US on November 26. The smartphone comes in Pantone Coal Smoke and Pantone Capulet Green. Motorola has confirmed an India launch this month, although the exact launch date and Indian pricing have not yet been announced.

Is Motorola Signature 27 Worth Considering?

The Motorola Signature 27 brings together features that premium smartphone buyers often look for: a high-resolution zoom camera, a bright display, a large battery, fast charging and long-term software support. Its AI video tools and advanced cooling system add to its appeal. However, its premium price means buyers should also compare camera performance, real-world battery life, software experience and after-sales support before making a decision. The specifications look impressive, but actual performance reviews will determine whether this phone delivers enough value for its price.
