It’s time to reveal the new-generation Skoda Auto India facelifted Slavia, which has been released with stylish new looks, some new specifications, and importantly, transmission update. The newly-designed car is equipped with the existing 1.0 litre and 1.5 litre turbo-petrol engines. There is nothing else but the fact that the smaller engine gets an 8-speed automatic transmission.

The key highlights of this car are its new 360 degrees camera, larger digital instrument cluster, a new 10.1 inch infotainment system, artificial intelligence assistant, and massage rear seats. The facelift also gets some minor updates in terms of styling and two additional colours for the sedan.

As the bookings have now commenced for the car, it seems that the updated version will continue the race with other best-selling mid-sized cars such as Hyundai Verna, Honda City, and Volkswagen Virtus. Here is all that you should know about the Skoda Slavia face-lift, from design to price and variants.

Changed With the Skoda Slavia Facelift?

Exterior looks have not changed much, but Skoda has made some minor tweaks in order to refresh the sedan. The LED daytime running lights come with a segmented pattern while the grille gets some fake carbon-fiber elements at its lower part. The bumper gets redesigned as well with a more aggressive appearance including an air dam and LED fog lamps.

Changes to the exterior at the back include a restyled LED taillamp design along with faux carbon-fiber accents. The taillamps also feature sequential indicators. The Monte Carlo model is distinguished by a blacked-out exterior, red brake callipers and red accents.

The Slavia Is More Premium Thanks to New Features

The interior cabin mostly stays true to the current dashboard styling; however, it now comes with new technologies. One of them includes a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment display with an improved interface and AI assistant, which comes along with a larger 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster.

Out of many highlights, some of the important ones include the rear massaging seats, which the company says are segment firsts. Other important highlights include the single pane sunroof, auto climate control, wireless charging, and android auto/apple carplay and so on.

360-Degree Camera Boosts Safety

The Slavia facelift gets a safety feature in the form of front parking sensors and 360-degree camera. This would be of great advantage while driving through narrow spaces, particularly the cities.

The sedan maintains six airbags, ESC, TPMS, all-wheel disc brakes, hill-hold control, rear parking sensors, and electronic differential lock. The Slavia continues to maintain the safety rating of 5 stars by the Global NCAP.

Latest Automatic 8-Speed Gearbox

The choice of engine remains the same. There are two engines available on the Slavia which are the 1.0-litre TSI turbo-petrol engine, making 115 PS and 178 Nm and the 1.5-litre TSI engine making 150 PS and 250 Nm.

The most important mechanical change made to the Volkswagen Slavia is the new 8-speed automatic transmission system for the 1.0-litre TSI engine. The 1.0-litre engine used to come with 6-speed automatic transmission while the more powerful 1.5-litre engine has 7-speed DSG automatic transmission.

The Skoda Slavia's price, variants, and colors

Skoda is expected to launch prices of its cars shortly, and its refreshed model Slavia is estimated to cost between ₹11 lakh to ₹18 lakh ex-showroom price.

Six versions of the car will be made available by the automaker - Classic, Classic Plus, Signature, Sportline, Prestige, and Monte Carlo.

In all, there will be ten variants of the color range, which consists of new color variants of Arctic Silver and Cappuccino Beige along with existing colors of Shimla Green, Steel Grey, Candy White, Cherry Red, Deep Black and Lava Blue.

Is Delaying for the Slavia Facelift Worth It?

The Slavia facelift is more concerned with convenience than with styling alterations. The features which really matter include the 360-degree camera, front parking sensors, rear massaging seats, upgraded digital cluster, and an 8-speed automatic gearbox.

The revamped Slavia can make a good option for people looking for a top-end petrol sedan with excellent safety performance and more features inside the cabin. But the final decision would really depend on its prices and feature list according to variants.
