1 cup rice


½ cup moong dal

1 grated carrot

½ cup green peas

1 chopped potato

1 chopped tomato

1 tsp grated ginger

1 chopped green chilli

½ tsp turmeric powder

½ tsp cumin seeds

Salt to taste

1 tsp ghee or oil

1. Wash and Soak

Wash rice and moong dal thoroughly and soak them for 15–20 minutes.

2. Prepare the Tempering

Heat ghee or oil in a pan. Add cumin seeds, ginger, and green chilli. Sauté for a few seconds until aromatic.

3. Add Vegetables

Add chopped carrot, potato, peas, and tomato. Cook for 2-3 minutes.

4. Add Spices

Mix in turmeric powder and salt as per taste.

5. Add Rice and Dal

Drain the soaked rice and dal and add them to the pan. Stir well.

6. Cook

Add 3-4 cups of water, cover, and cook on medium heat for 15-20 minutes until the rice and dal are well cooked and soft.

7. Serve Hot
