On the occasion of Sourav Ganguly birthday, the makers of his long awaited biopic "Dada" have launched the first look of Rajkummar Rao as he takes up the role of Ganguly. In the poster, Rajkumar recreates an iconic moment which will be memorable for all Indian cricket fans Ganguly waving his shirt at Lord's after India defeated England in the 2002 Natwest Trophy.

The makers decided to release Rajkummar Rao's first look from Dada on a symbolic date for the actor, July 8, 2026, which is Sourav Ganguly's birthday. The poster depicts the iconic Lord's "shirt-waving" moment, which became a defining feature of Indian cricket history as the Indians were strong in displaying their aggression and defiance against England.

The poster features Ganguly's post-match celebration after India defeated Sri Lanka in the NatWest Trophy final of 2002, which was memorable for its dramatic end and Ganguly's strong response on the home ground of England. Ganguly played for the Indian cricket team from 1992 till 2008, scoring 18,575 runs in 187 matches of Test and ODI cricket, including 38 centuries. His aggressive captaincy style is widely believed to have transformed Indian cricket and is a major bond of the upcoming biopic.
